Benefits of Choosing Our Rug Pad

Safety of a Non-Skid Backing

Over a hard surface, our pad stays in place and keeps your rug in place, which prevents slip and fall injuries.  Since your rug stays flat, it prevents buckling or wrinkling, which can cause premature wear to your rug and decrease its life.

Provides Comfort

A pad will provide a more comfortable, luxurious feel underfoot, while keeping your room quieter and warmer.  Our rug pad is 1/4″ thick.  If a door opens over your rug, measure to be sure there is enough height clearance for the door to open over the rug with a pad.  A thinner 1/8″ thick pad can be provided if needed.

Moisture Barrier Protects Floor Below from Moisture or Pet Urine

Our rug pad backing features a moisture barrier that prevents liquids, spills or pet urine from soaking below the rug pad which could damage your floors.  This is especially important on wood floors because refinishing or replacement is expensive and inconvienient.   A pad will also prevent possible rug dye from crocking onto your hard surface or carpeted flooring.

Our Rug Pad Won’t Yellow, Discolor or Stick to Your Floor

Many other rug pads have a backing with latex rubber.   It may be less expensive, but over time, it will break down.  It off gases and can cause odor because of the chemicals used in manufacturing.  Some people are allergic to this.  Learn more about latex allergies here.

Latex rubber can stain or discolor vinyl floors (LVP Luxury Vinyl Plank or LVT Luxury Vinyl Tile).

Our rug pad does not have latex rubber.  The synthetic felted top is laminated to the non-skid, polypropylene, closed cell technology backing.  Our rug pad will not stain, discolor, stick to or mar your flooring.

Life of the Rug Warranty

High quality recycled materials allow us to offer a “Life of the Rug” Warranty.  The rug pad is warrantied for the life of your rug against degradation of the fiber or backing.  The Pet Resistant backing is not warrantied against punctures or holes.  The backing may degrade in direct sunlight.  In high traffic areas, the pile thickness may change, so it is important to turn the pad with the rug as well as with cleaning to reduce this change.  For this reason, your rug pad can be considered an affordable investment and a one-time purchase to protect your flooring.

Washable

Our rug pad can be washed without damaging it.  A lesser quality latex rubber pad can start to break down when washed.

Cut to Fit Your Rug

A one piece pad, up to 12 feet wide, can be custom cut to fit your rug.  Typically, rug pad will be cut 1 inch shorter on all sides to help the rug lay flat.   For example, a rug pad for an 8’ x 10’ rug would be custom cut to 7’10” x 9”10”.

This rug pad is incorrectly sized. It is larger than the rug, which is not the desired look.

Hypo-Allergenic

Our rug pad is Green Label Plus Certified.  This means there is no odor, off gassing, or VOC’s.   It is does not cause allergies.  This protects your homes indoor air quality for your family.  It is the safest pad available!

Environmentally Friendly

Our rug pad is made from 100% recycled yarn and petroleum byproducts.  It is washable and does not degrade over time eventually ending up in a landfill like a pad with latex rubber does.

Other Types of Rug Pad

One side of this rug pad is felt.  The other side is inexpensive, latex rubber that can break down over time, which can discolor or yellow some floors underneath it.

This basic, thin, non-slip rug pad for hard surfaces prevents a rug from moving and slipping, but it can bunch up and wear out over time.  This type of pad provides little to no cushion or comfort.

This type of rug pad is coated with a tacky adhesive on both sides, which prevents a rug from moving when it is placed on top of carpet.  The effectiveness of the adhesive decreases over time.

This type of pad is a rebond pad, which should only be installed under wall-to-wall carpet.  This pad will not prevent a rug from moving.
